CATHERINE CRAIG is a highly accomplished award-winning writer, director, producer, and cinematographer who creates narrative, experimental, animated, and documentary films. She made history as the first woman to work as a visual effects animation camerawoman at George Lucas's Industrial Light and Magic, with her camera work and CGI artistry appearing in over thirty major motion pictures.

Her feature film, OddFX, was selected as one of only twelve screenplays from an international pool for the prestigious The Writers Lab, sponsored by Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman. The screenplay has twice been selected as a finalist for the Sundance Screenwriting Lab. Catherine also attended the Stowe Narrative Screenwriting Retreat.

Catherine founded her own award-winning production company, where she directed and produced films for the tech industry, overseeing large budgets and leading union crews and directing guild actors. She designed and implemented Francis Coppola's film archive and oversaw his domestic and international film distribution.

She studied directing at the American Conservatory Theater and photography at the Kodak-influenced Rochester Institute of Technology. Catherine holds a BFA in film from California College of Art and considers her graduate studies to be the years she worked for Francis Ford Coppola.

"Catherine is a dedicated and talented artist with experience in all aspects of the film industry. As an archivist and part of the American Zoetrope family, Catherine preserved and worked with distributors for many of my films. Since that time, I have followed her career with great interest. As a camerawoman, artist and storyteller, my hope is that she be given the opportunity to combine all those unique skills and create her vision for the big screen." Writer, Director of The Godfather franchise. FRANCIS FORD COPPOLA

Catherine Craig and I have been friends and colleagues for many years. Her extensive filmography includes more than thirty five feature films, many of them the biggest blockbusters of their time. Catherine’s well respected professional talents range from fine arts painting to computer graphics wizardry, and she is also a highly regarded camerawoman and film archivist. In the past few years she has also found success as a screenwriter. Her partly autobiographical, award winning screenplay, OddFX showcases her creativity in a particularly poignant and original way. It is the quirky, fascinating journey of an independent woman who is determined to persevere for the sake of her children. The characterizations are rich and the setting hip. I look forward to witnessing Catherine Craig’s enormous artistry and filmmaking talent as this project moves forward; she is sure to provide a unique voice and exquisite vision to her terrific material.” Producer of the Despicable Me, Minions and Sing franchises. JANET HEALY

As a live action and FX cameraman, I've worked under the direction of many directors from Steven to George Lucas, Richard Marquand, Robert Wise, Toby Harper, Wes Craven and others. Based on those experiences I have developed a sense of what it takes to be a director. aving worked with Catherine Craig, I am certain that she is a fine director. Under all circumstances, I found her optimistic in outlook, organized and steadfast in approach, experienced, yet imaginative, intelligent and insightful in problem solving, and remarkably well versed in all aspects of production. She displays an extraodinary skill level in both the aesthetic and technicals areas. Perhaps even more significant among Catherine's skills is her ability to work with a production crew as well as lead it to a specific goal.
